Correct. I'm instead bragging. Neener neener neener! ;-) I can't seem to catch the Citrix XML Service restarting when I do this, which is interesting. -----Original Message----- From: Brian Madden [mailto:brian@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, August 18, 2003 8:59 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Citrix MFXP FR2 Administration Guide Error ..so you don't have a problem, you're instead bragging that this works without restarting? :-) Seriously, I would think that the service would have to restart, since I don't think that it scans the registry continually looking for changes. I wonder if the ctxxmlss command also automatically bounces the service? You might want to watch the service's status via the MMC... The MetaFrame Settings tab displays the port used by the Citrix XML service for TCP/IP+HTTP browsing by ICA Clients. This setting cannot be edited here, but you can change the port for a server with a command. To change the port setting, at the system command prompt, type ctxxmlss /rxxxxx, with the actual port number following /r. This configures the service to auto start on port xxxxx. To activate the new settings, you have to stop and start the service. Well, I have both configured the XML port from the Metaframe Settigns tab, and tested that it is listening WITHOUT restarting. -- Ryan Lambert Systems & Network Engineer NetSource 1242 East 49th Street Suite 0503-B, Third Floor Cleveland, OH 44114 Ph/Fax: 216-373-2757 http://www.netsourceit.com ******************************************************** This Week's Sponsor: RES PowerFuse, The Management Framework for Windows Eliminate Multiple Tools, Multiple Support Channels and Multiple Costs Manage, Control, and Secure an Entire Windows environment with Ease, including Real-time Reporting and Documenting Components Validate a Meaningful ROI on All of your IT Investments with RES PowerFuse. http://www.respowerfuse.com/ ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thethin.net/links.cfm For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm ******************************************************** This Week's Sponsor: RES PowerFuse, The Management Framework for Windows Eliminate Multiple Tools, Multiple Support Channels and Multiple Costs Manage, Control, and Secure an Entire Windows environment with Ease, including Real-time Reporting and Documenting Components Validate a Meaningful ROI on All of your IT Investments with RES PowerFuse. http://www.respowerfuse.com/ ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thethin.net/links.cfm For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm
