User obviously has to logon to change password. It then logs user straight back off. I think this is normal behaviour. All the icons appearing is a bug. (I think Citrix server side not client) I think you will find a hotfix available for this. The user get logged out and the local desktop is populated with all the published desktops/applications even the ones that the user doesn't have access to.
