There are utilities out there thought that let you record how you set up a program and replay them to reconfigure additional machines in a script, but I am having a brain fart right now and can't remember the names. I know Altiris has one that does it. Is it Wintall?

Your right, my brain is so turned off today.

Again though, couldn't you modify the script slightly. Say it takes an
argument when kicked off that differentiates which farm it connects to.
Something like 'build test' or 'build prod'. Depending on what param is
passed, it connects to either test or prod. It really sounds to me like
your trying to add a layer of complexity that doesn't have to be there.

I want to make sure the prod build is exactly the same at test build.
After
completing a prod build I want to run an additional script which will
then
move it to another farm. When you do a chfarm it launches a lovely
little
wizard. I've tried to find parameters for chfarm using chfarm /? Which
doesn't help. The advanced admin guide doesn't have much in it
either...

Why not change the script so it puts them in the test farm? Chgfarm is
just a command line util, shouldn't be any reason you can't kick it off
from within a script.

Hi All

Is it possible to script a chfarm process?. Have some servers which I'd
like to use for testing. We have a scripted build which we use to build
servers into production farm. Like to then move servers into another
farm
for testing. Means I always have current live build in test each time a
server is rebuilt. Ideas?
