Next version of Metaframe will support Activesync but not hotsync (at
least at this point). Doesn't help but hey, gotta pass along the great
info gleaned from iForum.

Through my experience: a PDA that uses Active Sync will not synd on a
Win2k
Terminal Server. (Not sure about Server2003 TS...don't have any to test
on). However, it will work w/ HotSync. But let me tell you, it's not
very
reliable....especially when more than one person try. It is possible,
but
it requires a ton of tweaking.

I believe the Dell PDA's use Active Sync...so I'm surprised that had it
working via Citrix. I'd investigate the validity to that statement
before
you spend too much time on it.

Speaking of com port mapping... anyone tried Dell PDAs over Citrix? Have
a
customer that mentioned they are having issues synching them, and that
it
'used to work'. They're also connecting the PDAs to a Neoware device.

We map them through our script, typical remap and use them for bar code
scanners and com scale ports.

I'm continuing to do some digging because I'm finding some contradictory
statements, but I cannot find anything that says you can actually use
com
ports outside of the add printer wizard.

Are we sure about that or is it an inference from the help file only?

In other words, COM port mappings for anything else is not supported in
RDP.

Thank you for that but that only refers to printers. Using Citrix I can
map
client com ports to talk to any serial device such as bar code scanners.
Is
this not possible with W2K without Citrix?
