Recreated the LHC on this server lately?

Run "Dsmaint recreatelhc" after stopping the IMA service on the server,
then start the IMA service again, and give logging into the CMC another
go.

I am having difficulty using the CMC. I get an error msg that says, "
Failed to connect to preferred farm server" when I enter my credentials
to
login to the CMC. This only occurs when I launch the CMC from the
server.
The local copy of the CMC on my pc has no problem connecting. Anyone
know
how to correct this?

This server was recently rebuilt using W2K SP3 as the base. FR2 was
loaded
on top. It has hotifx XE102W081
