I think you should find something in the list archives somewhere - just make sure you are using the 32bit ICA Client. Other than that I probably have some notes at work somewhere. I have a mix of older PCs running the DOS client. Mostly Compaq Prolinea 486sx 50s but a few other model Prolineas and no name clones thrown in for good measure. Been a couple of years since I set any of these up - but I remember it as being quite straight forward. I'm on holiday until next year - so if you are still having problems drop me a line off list and and I will see what I can dig up when I get back to work. -Ec -----Original Message----- From: Dr. Harold Ross, Jr. [mailto:haroldross@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 17 December 2003 1:45 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Browser Listener for IPX Our desktops are Compaq DeskPro 33s. These are 486 machines with 4 Meg RAM and 40 to 120 Meg hard drives. The computers boot to DOS 6.0. I have tried to setup the DOS clients for TCP/IP but when all the drivers and TSRs are loaded I get a message that there is not enough memory to run the client software. Where can I find more information about setting the PCs for TCP/IP? Depending on the config of your boxes you could look at using Win9.x and either one of the shell replacements or the desktop launcher you can download from thethin.net as this will allow you to use a more up to date ICA client. We run Angus's Shelaunch on both Win95 and Win98 on 486 boxes and have found it a better configuration that DOS clients. Though we do still have a few older (2mb) 386 and 486 boxes running the 32-bit DOS ICA client. -Ec _____ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dr. Harold D. The problem I have is that Server 2003 no longer has the Browser Listener for IPX. I have 30 old 486 PCs set up with the DOS ICA client using IPX. Does any one know a workaround for adding the Browser Listener for IPX to Server 2003? Is there any third party software? Thank you, Harold Ross, MIS Director, Blue Ox Towing Products
