Areas in close proximity and not too far are Bethesda or Rockville, MD. They are anywhere from 5-15 miles away from downtown Silver Spring. In the morning, the amount of travel time could be from about 15 mins (a good day) to 30 or more mins. Rockville & Bethesda are on the Metro train "Red line", but you go through DC to get to Silver Spring. If you want more information on Metro services go here: http://www.wmata.com/default.cfm -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, March 17, 2005 5:42 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Briforum Well, the web site even mentions to only stay in the two hotels listed. Im not normally squeamish about the surroundings. But, im not sure if "diverse neighborhood" means what it means here. We'd like somewhere comfortable to walk around at night with decent places to eat dinner etc..... might as well make a mini vacation out of the trip! The conference itself sounds great... wondering why ive never heard of it before? -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Parr Sent: Thursday, March 17, 2005 4:17 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Briforum What did you read? -----Original Message----- From: "Werther, Chris" <chris.werther@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu, 17 Mar 2005 16:29:43 To:<thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [THIN] Re: Briforum Im not reading great things about the area.
