Server has been rebooted many times.  

Tried deleting and re-adding the ICA-tcp connection, (and rebooted) didn't
help.

However I resolved the problem by deleting and recreating the Published
Application.  Although everything was correct in the old one, and the new
one has exactly the same settings, it now works.

If RDP is working, then your local security policy should be fine....

Have got another problem now,  prior to changing anything on the server to
try to solve the problem below, the users that the server was working for
and myself (including Administrator accounts) get the error message "You do
not have access to logon to this Session" when connecting via ICA.  RDP is
working.

 

I have been going though the many resolutions on this error message using
google and thin but none of them seem to make any difference.  I have;

 

-          Checked the permissions on the ICA-tcp connection.

-          Checked the permissions "Enable logon to this server" for the
server within the Citrix Management Console.

-          Checked the permissions within the published application.

-          Checked the Licensing server is up and working.

-          Checked the Citrix Licensing.

-          Checked the Event Log on the Server, and there is nothing logged
on this.

 

Logons were working yesterday morning, but weren't by late afternoon.  I had
made no changes to this server (or indeed any server) between the logons
working and this error  appearing.  Logons to our other Citrix server (that
I need to switch off) using the same setup and licensing server is still
working without problem.

 

Any ideas on this one?

Hi,

We had an old unused citrix server running Windows 2000 Server SP2,
Metaframe XP FR2/SP2, Office 2000 Pro, plus a load of old versions of things
like Adobe Acrobat Reader 6, PDF Creator, etc.

For various reasons this server is being bought back on line.  I have
upgraded it to Windows 2000 Server SP4 (plus the Citrix related hot-fixes),
Run Windows Update (100+ security patches), Metaframe XP FR2/SP4, Office
2003 Standard, Adobe Acrobat Reader 9,etc.

Connection to this server is via Published Desktops using ICA files.  The
problem I now have is, for some users they log on successfully without
problem from a number of new and old version of ICA clients.  Other users,
just get a blank blue screen/wallpaper with the mouse pointer (ie the screen
before the Citrix Metaframe logo and logon box appears) and nothing more.
This occurs with different ICA Clients and both on the LAN, and though the
VPN remotely.  For the users that can't get the logon box though Citrix
connecting via RDP does work.  

Also, for the users that can't connect to this old unused Citrix server,
they have no problems connecting to the current Citrix server they are using
(which is being taken offline), which has the same setup (W2K SP4, Metaframe
FR2/SP4, Office 2K3, etc).

Any ideas on what is causing this, and/or how best to resolve it.  I haven't
managed Metaframe for many years, and am very rusty.
