Hi Joe, I suspect the term remote might confuse things. Where are you intending to run outlook, on the Citrix servers or on the remote workstation? If the former, then profilemaker will need to be running on the servers, if the latter then of course it needs to be running on the remote workstation because Outlook will be connecting remotely. regards, Rick Ulrich Mack rmack@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Volante Systems 18 Heussler Terrace, Milton 4064 Queensland Australia tel +61 7 32467704 -----Original Message----- From: Joe Suarez [mailto:JSuarez@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, 4 July 2003 6:51 AM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: Automatically configure Outlook 2000 clients Per AutoProf: "... you can start running configurations remotely. In order to do this, the Profile Maker client executable (~180K) must be executed on the desktop you would like to configure." I may be wrong (I have been before <grin>) but I read this as something would be run on the client machine possibly installing something to the local machine. Our policies wouldn't let that happen. We would like to use an application such as ProfileMaker to automatically configure the end users' profile when the first connect. Our problem is that our client machines are VERY locked down and nothing can be installed when the end user is logged in. This rules out ProfileMaker as it has a 180K client piece which an administrator would have to install - for that I'd just configure the profile. Can anyone suggest an application which will ease the configuration headache? Or perhaps you know of a workaround? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
