What about publishing the print folder and allowing users to change settings for their printers? -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Schneider, Chad M Sent: Wednesday, September 14, 2005 11:07 AM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: AutoCreated Printer My biggest issue to date, is printers which have things like additional paper trays. The driver for the printer does not automatically see and enable theses trays. We run published applications, so users do not see printer settings. I have had to give users a published desktop, go into the printer settings, in the session, enable the paper trays, set the paper size for the trays, and close out. It is then saved to their roaming profile, it appears, so when they run the published apps., they can print to the proper trays. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mike Semon Sent: Wednesday, September 14, 2005 9:50 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: AutoCreated Printer There were lots of printing updates after SP2 which may help this. We had issues with SP2 retaining default printer information. Create a printer mapping for this printer which works in Citrix environment. www.printing support.com has lots of mappings if you need one. One of the issues was Citrix had trouble recognizing the default printer if the workstation had more than 3 printers defined. Upgrading the Service packs and Feature Release should help your printing a lot. Actually first time and it has been a pain ever since we applied SP4 to our W2K servers. I have a user who is getting an auto created printer that the driver isn't even defined on this Citrix server. This auto created printer comes up as the default printer. One of her apps doesn't allow her to change the printer it goes to the default. I have gone and deleted her profile and had her log back on and the same error occurs. Any ideas? MF XPe sp2 (We are working on going to sp4) Feature Release = None Thanks Paul ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor: triCerat Inc. You need Day Zero Protection!
