If users already have their own copy of appsrv.ini then you have 3 choices as I see it: Manually edit each appsrv.ini Script the desired changes to appsrv.ini Edit the central copy and delete everyone's appsrv.ini so they get a new copy with the desired settings _____ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Fred Pabia Sent: Thursday, April 06, 2006 10:18 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Appsrv.ini Thanks. The AppData was redirected to their home directory. How can I change the appsrv.ini without having to go into each one and modifying settings. The central copy is only for first time users who have not connected before, correct? You could also look at modifying the central copy of appsrv.ini so that all users get the correct settings the first time they open PN. Locked down copied of PN used to be available on thethin.net <http://thethin.net/> , but I haven't looked for one lately. _____ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto: <mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Fred Pabia Sent: Thursday, April 06, 2006 8:20 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Appsrv.ini We also use 3125SE's and have it set up so that when the unit is switched on, it will launch PN which is published, logs the user in automatically and displays the apps the users have rights to. It also displays 'Application Set Manager', 'Find New Application Set' etc which I would like to turn off in appsrv.ini. I am also looking at turning off the icons in PN like 'Settings' which I was told I could use ResHacker but still finding the right file to work on unless you have suggestions for this as well. Thanks. I don't believe (and I may be wrong) that you can directly modify appsrv.ini, but on our 3125's with the latest ICA client we can tweak just about any setting that we'd ever want to. What is it that you are wanting to change and what model terminals do you have? _____ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto: <mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Fred Pabia Sent: Wednesday, April 05, 2006 5:56 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Appsrv.ini We currently use Wyse Thin clients running on Windows CE and I am looking for the users appsrv.ini file and I was wondering where I would begin to look for it. I thought it was in the users roaming profile under 'Application Data\ICA client' but I don't see it. Is this on the wyse box itself? If you could please point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
