This same symptom can occur when selected users have a drive persistently
mapped to a share that no longer exists. Apps take forever to launch while
the user waits for the nonexistent mapped drive to time out.

This may seem crazy, but get a copy of regmon and watch what is happening
when a problem user runs the app. We had something similar happen and we
found it was searching like mad for a registry key call International Sort
Order that didn't exist for certain users for some reason. We added it to
those users and the problem app opened in seconds. Very strange.

Subject: [THIN] App may take half an hour to open

Greetings all,

Running Citrix XP FR 3 on a Windows 2000 server SP4. Under 10 users, machine
is dual 1 Ghz CPU and 1 gig RAM.
We are using Macola Exact software for ERP. Some users when launching the
application through Program Neighborhood will have the dialogue box
"Applying Personal Settings" displayed anywhere from 10 minutes to half an
hour before the application opens, while for other users the application
opens right up. There seems to be no pattern as to which user it happens to
and when. The server memory usage is always far below capacity but CPU usage
does peg in the 90's a fair bit, usually hung on one process but necessarily
when on one of the application launch hang-ups.

I'm not sure where to be looking, am pretty confident the server has enough
horse power. Is there an easy way for me to determine which Citrix
patches/hotfixes are installed so I can see if there are updates I should be
applying?

Would appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thanks.
