Agreeable... Luckily here at our site we have about 20 - 30 users per server and most know how to look at the message and see who generated it and call only if need be. The other thing is that the message is not that you have been infected but rather that it has blocked the infection. Most we get are the Trojan redirects from people surfing. The e-mail blocks is a different story. We are scanning on the exchange server and a message is sent to the user that a virus has infected their e-mail and that the virus was blocked. The pop ups are only when surfing or if they some how get a virus through the e-mail that was not blocked there and the local scanner catches it (this has never happened at our location).. Not sure where the popup goes to. Knock on wood but we have not had any infections hit the farm. I will have to download the EICAR test virus and see where the message pops at. I will post back what I find. -----Original Message----- From: Jeff Malczewski [mailto:jmalczewski@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, May 18, 2004 12:58 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: Anti-Virus software?? This is the product that we currently own, but I am hesitant to put it on TS boxes because of the load that previous versions of this software have placed on systems.. Not to mention the fact that I DESPISE CA.. But, again.. Does the product pop up infection notifications to the user, or only to the console?? -----Original Message----- From: Phil Smith [mailto:psmith@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, May 18, 2004 12:54 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: Anti-Virus software?? I use Computer Associates Inoculate 7.0 and it works great. Create a custom install file and push it out to all the machines and it is locked down and runs small in the TS environment. Have seen 0 extra load in our farm. -----Original Message----- From: PETERSON, DAVID [mailto:DPETERSO@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, May 18, 2004 12:49 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Anti-Virus software??
