Threadmaster'll just do capping mind - and as freeware it's not been touched
in a long time iirc - still I've used it when needs must and it does work
very well.

As Joe said Appsense's Performance Manager will do CPU capping at a more
granular level than Threadmaster; WMSoftware have Revelos; RTO have TScale.
There are paid up and supported versions out there with a good track record.

Is the browser you're running IE? Does the same happen with firefox and/or
google chrome? And then of course - does it do the same thing on a standard
desktop?

Any chance you could bat the issue back to the developer so that they can
check their rubbish code and fix it? Maybe it's actually a DB problem (on
the assumption that this is an AJAX app querying some DB backend somewhere)
- like they're doing a search based on a non-indexed value..

Just because it's being a problem on your Citrix server doesn't mean your
Citrix server is at fault.

Have you tried Threadmaster, its freeware...one of the legends advised me of
it in the past and worked a treat? :)

Subject: [THIN] Ajax web application uses 25% CPU

Hi all
I ran into a problem with a vendor supplied web app that uses Ajax.
This application uses 20 to 30 % of the CPU pe user. I am running
xenapp 4.5 hrp02 windows 2003 sp2 32 bit on a 2 socket single core
prics with 8 gb ram.

I tried CPU rebalancing with little improvement.

Does any one have pointers or tweaks to have this use less( other than
finding a new app :->)?
