From what I've seen, the issues are with the PDF Creation process.
Using the program itself is just like using any other program. Works
fine for manipulating all existing PDFs. In my experience at least.

So the full version of Adobe runs ok? It is the printers and distillers
that get out of whack?

Mostly they want to combine different documents they scan into a single
pdf or make one from scratch.

I've taken to using Cute PDF Printer for a PDF maker. It has worked
with as a PDF Printer for some programs we use that Adobe has not. I'm
not speaking about making PDF from office files, but from programs
customized towards our business. Granted I still have Acrobat 5.0, but
Cute PDF Printer is FREE and has always worked like a charm. The only
issue I've had with it is that after you run something through it, it
makes itself your default printer. I just train my users to be watch
out for this.

For editing, Acrobat is the way to go.

Subject: [THIN] Adobe PDF Creation

I have always skipped most of the threads on Adobe because on we don't
use anything but the reader here.
I have now been asked to get users the ability to create, edit, and save
their own pdf files.

I know some of you have had trouble with adobe on a terminal server.

Given a clean slate, what would be your ideal way to create and edit pdf
documents?

The people here who have used adobe like it but if there is something
better/easier/cheaper, I'm all for it.

We are running Windows 2003 Server with Metaframe Xpa FR3.=3D3D20

Thanks!

Greg
