If this isn't a CAL-license issue, maybe you should try to upgrade the tcp/ip stack at the ME-boxes.. best regards Jan Rune Bj=F8rkeng = =20 "Friese, Casey" = =20 <cfriese@penncol Til: <thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx= > =20 or.com> cc: = =20 Sendt av: Emne: [THIN] Tricks for c= onnecting Windows ME clients =20 thin-bounce@free = =20 lists.org = =20 = =20 = =20 26.08.2002 15:38 = =20 Vennligst send = =20 svar til thin = =20 = =20 = =20 Greetings, I have a home user using Windows ME. Currently he establishes a PPTP VPN connection into our network via a cable modem. I'm having trouble getting his ME machine to connect to the Win2k terminal server. I've tried both the Terminal Services client and the Web remote client. Using the terminal services client, I tried to connect to both the server name and the server IP address. The connection times out using both. Using the remote web client I've tried both the server name and ip address and they both fail. I have verified that I can ping the terminal by both name and IP when I establish the VPN connection. All other clients, W2k, XP, and 9x can make this connection without any problems. This is the second ME machine that I have had problems with. Are there any tricks to getting ME to work with this scenario? Thanks, Casey =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D This weeks Sponsor: ThinPrint - High resolution, DRIVER FREE PRINTING with no loss of quality in color. - Removes print spooling and rendering tasks from your terminal server. http://www.thinprint.com =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link. http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm ---------------------------------------------------------------------------= ---- This verifies that this e-mail has been scanned for virus and deemed virus-free according to F-secure Content Scanner 5.0 Mon, 26 Aug 2002 09:38:38 -0400 GMT ---------------------------------------------------------------------------= ---- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------= ---- This verifies that this e-mail has been scanned for virus and deemed virus-= free=20 according to F-secure Content Scanner 5.0 Mon, 26 Aug 2002 15:50:43 +0200 GMT ---------------------------------------------------------------------------= ---- =================================== This weeks Sponsor: ThinPrint - High resolution, DRIVER FREE PRINTING with no loss of quality in color. - Removes print spooling and rendering tasks from your terminal server. http://www.thinprint.com =================================== For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link. http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm
