Any older MS OS, (Win95/98/NT 4.0) can connect and work fine on an Active
Directory network. However you can't use DFS on the older systems, unless
you have the AD extentions installed on the machines. For Winnt, this
requires SP 6a, and I believe at least IE 5.0. . . but it is a seperate
install from the 6a service pack.

The AD extentions dosen't get you a whole lot, but if you plan to get funky
with your Active Directory, you'll want to update all of your older clients
with the extentions.

The following article states there is an NT extension client, is this not
needed if you have the latest SP?
