[THIN] Re: Access XP/2003 on Win2003/MPS 3?

Just install it and patch it. Up to the Access developer to make sure there
app works the way it was intended. We sat down went through there app and
what it linked to etc and made sure it all worked. He had to recode where
there were buttons where it would gracefully crash. Basically the full
blown Access XP can handle problems and will continue running. The access
run time will gracefully crash and kick you out.

I would be interested in how you coded the runtime to work well within
Citrix.

Well unfortunately we are stuck with what we are given sometimes. You
cannot tell the right people that their developed product is rubbish and
have them listen to you. We all get stung like this.

We do use Access runtime on some of our Citrix servers. It's not the best
but if it's properly coded it can work.

There are always better methods or programs to write apps in. However you
don't always have an expert around to do this for you.

Trouble with access as the front end, is the age old problem that access
front end, uses the front end client (in this case the server) to do all of
it's processing, bringing the machine to a crawl. Unless something with
Access has changed.

That's the nicest way of doing things :)

The power of SQL with the easiness of Access you could say.. No locking
problems whatsoever as its all done on the SQL server
