Ryan Sorry can't help you, but would like to say what a fine bunch of people they are at the ATO :) we know they know and hear everything! Its seems banks/finacials provide the worst 16bit 8 year old crap apps that we still use to connect to them GRRR John -----Original Message----- From: Ryan McBride [mailto:McBride@xxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: Wednesday, December 18, 2002 2:21 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] ATO Software locking up in Metaframe XP FR2 Hey all, This post is probably going to be more applicable to all us "Ozzie" posters ;). Im trying to migrate 600 users into Metaframe XP FR2. We chose to use the Finance dept as the test dummies. Now one of the software pieces that they use is one called "Electronic Commerece Interface" or "ECI" which is used to lodge BAS Statements to the Australian Tax Office (ATO). Now this client is based upon MS Virtual Machine, so it wont run unless that is installed. The problem is that this software seems to lock up constantly under Citrix Metaframe XP FR2. Im not sure what is causing it as yet. A call to the ATO Helpdesk returned the following results. 1st level support guy telling me that it wont work under Citrix. Why?? Not sure, something to do with they way it makes secure connections to the internet. (Hmmm makes no sense to me). Being end of year, the ATO help desk is apparently EXTREAMLY busy and will be lucky if I get a support person from 2nd/3rd Level helldesk to return my call before weeks end. What I want to know is has anyone else tried using this software under citrix. Have they had any problems with it, if you managed to get it working, can you explain how you managed to get it working. Any assistance would be greatfull.
