Double check your default settings and check out the precise description of
isolate versus redirect. There may be some subtly here that happens to
impact this application........

Hi Evan,

My appologies. I should have said CashBook, and not QuickBooks. I have the
"QuickBooks" series of apps working, but the "CashBook" series of apps will
not work, and are not supported by Quicken mainly due to sharing violations
in the %ProgramFiles% folder.

I've done approximately 40 different accountancy applicatsions for one of
Australias largest Accountancy firms. This is really the last on to get
working, and the only one that has required the use of an AIE.

Isolating it in that manner should be supported, as it's documented as a
function of AIE.

Cheers.

I just installed QuickBooks Enterprise 5.0 on PS4 and do not appear to be
having any issues. I did get a weird "files not found, click to download
again" the first time each user logged in. I redirect the home folder, but
QuickBooks is just installed to program files and not running in an AIE.
I have not heard any complaints yet.

Subject: [THIN] AIE under Citrix PS 4.0

Hi All,

I'm having a bit or trouble trying to isolate an application using an AIE
and am looking for an "expert" that has a real good understanding of how it
should work.

Don't get me wrong, it isolates and lauches the application, but it takes so
long to launch the app and close it that it is not acceptable for the
production environment.

The applications I am working with is Quicken 2003 QuickBooks and Quicken
2004 QuickBooks (for an accountancy firm). These programs are not multiuser
and Terminal Server aware, so there are a couple of files in the
%ProgramFiles% folder that generate a sharing violation, therefore I am
using an AIE to Isolate ONLY these files.

When lanuching the program normally outside the AIE, it opens and closes
really quickly. But when lanching it via AIERUN, it's terribly slow. If you
trace them with filemon you can see that it's searching the AIE User Profile
Root for ALL files (exe's, dll's, etc) first, instead of from the
%ProgramFiles% folder. It is my understanding that it should only refer to
the AIE User Profile Root for the isolated files.

I have a call logged with Citrix. So far level 1 support has not been that
helpful to a point where they are blaming the Quicken application. I find
this hard to believe and have asked for it to be escalated. In fact, I have
asked to speak to an AIE expert who can explain why this is happening, and
hopefully provide me with a solution, or tell me if I have correctly
configured it. But I'm not confident that they will find me one for Monday,
so thought I'd put this to the forum.

The server OS is Windows 2003 (not SP1).

Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Cheers.
