You could use powerfuse (www.res.nl) to achieve this for those users that
need a locked down desktop.
Any other way is not possible as far as I can see.

Onderwerp: [THIN] AD style policies in NT4 domain

Hi there all

I am currently deploying a Windows 2000/MF XPe farm in an NT4 domain (with
no hope of a domain upgrade to Win2k/AD anytime soon)

There is a requirement to deploy a locked down desktop to some users.
Additionally, I want to insure that admins still get a fully functional
desktop when they access the servers. Under Active Directory and Group
Policy this is a slam dunk.

I can use gpedit to configure the local policy but there is no facility to
screen policies/settings based on group membership without AD. It's
basically an all or nothing lock down.

I could use System Policy Editor (poledit) to do this, but the new policy
templates (system.adm, inetres.adm) and settings are not supported and I
hate the interface.

Does anyone know of a way that I would be able to use the new policy
templates and apply some very simple group filtering logic to achieve this?

Thanks
