[THIN] AD questions PDC emulator role.

I know this might be a little off topic, but wanted to see what those who
already have an AD network would recommend.
I knwo the FSMO Roles can be delegated to other DC's in the domain, by using
active Directory Domain and Trust MMC shanp-in. But when you do a in-PLACE
upgrade from an NT 4.0 PDC to Win2k DC, which will be in mixed mode. Can you
transfer the PDC Emulator role, or does that server need to stay as the PDC
emulator until you go to Native Mode?
Any suggesstions, looking to replace existing PDC, with new PDC that has a
RAID controller, and possibly a 7.8GB parititon ( If I can get the Compaq
SSD to build it that way), so that when I upgrade to Win2k, and the
processing of the SAM_ file to NTDS.DIT doesn't run the hard-drive out of
space.
