[THIN] 2008 TS Printer mappings

Dealing with my first experiences with 2008 TS, in particular printing.
Just read up a little on the new "Easy Print" driver. Sounds like
something similar to the Citrix UPD, yes? How good is it? Requirements
list RDC 6.1 which is part of Vista SP1 or XP SP3. I don't see any
mention of getting RDC 6.1 on XP SP2, so I assume I'm stuck for the XP
users until I upgrade them to SP3 (and it also looks like I need .NET
3.5 as well)
If I don't have a compatible client, would I do it via a mapping file
with the location defined in
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Wds\rdpwd,
PrinterMappingINFSection value ?
