Can you recommend any good books on VBScript? Most of the ones I have
found cover delve into VB, not just scripting.

While this is true, there are ways to do this. Do a search on Google
for Tomas Ecks. He wrote a COM add-on for VBscript for TS Profile Path
and Home Drive manipulation. Also, check out
http://cwashington.netreach.net. A GREAT collection of scripts. If you
cannot find the DLL, I can provide it for you.
For all of those reading this discussion, if you don't know VBscript, go
out and buy some books on the subject. This skill is INVALUABLE.
