That is also how I understand 16bit vs 256 to work (16bit being more efficient) Thanks, Enterprise Server Team Rick Mattingly 859-363--2264 The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material. I'm forcing many of my apps to 256 color because there is simply no need for anything more, and that's what they were used to on 2000 TS anyway. Based on this, I should run them all at 16bit anyway, because 'll save cpu overhead and have very little impact on bandwidth? -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Alexander Danilychev Sent: Wednesday, July 27, 2005 12:17 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: 16-bit color vs. 24-bit color This is due to the overhead of down sampling 16-bit to 256 colors when running at low color, i.e. Citrix (as far as I know) recommends 16-bit versus 256 colors due to better performance on the server and insignificant difference with the bandwidth. However 24-bit WILL impact your bandwidth.
