Well, join the team and implement the missing features yourself :) Implementing backward search does not involve any specific system API. It is just the reverse of searching forward, but with some different checks and arithmetics.
Just ask Jens to add you to the TE.mcc team. Should be no problem, since you already have an account at sf.net.
