Greetings, I birded Clapp Park and Ransom Canyon this morning. Not much at Clapp except a Virginia Rail out in the open. Ransom was also slow. We thought Northern Waterthrush was going to be our only warbler species until we ran into a feeding flock consisting of a Nashville Warbler, Painted Bunting, and Worm-eating Warbler. Also had a Blue Grosbeak. In other Ransom news, the Great-horned Owl nest has failed. One of the adults is dead and the fledglings are likely dead as well. One adult remains in the area. I wonder how they met their demise?
