Check a fairly regular Botteri's location just east of Sarita. I needed to visit this to make sure I was in the right place. I did not hear or see the bird this morning but often do in season. The wind was just screaming and it was hard to hear anthing. The area is about 2.8 miles east of 77 or near, 27.13'14.62 X 97.44' 37.57"....This bird(s) is behind a fence on highly protected, no trespassing property but it is as close to a Corpus/Kingsville location that I know to be accessible for the roadside birder. There are/were some in eastern Kleberg too but I don't have the exact locations or the possible permission required to post those locations. Don't hound this Sarita bird with tapes pls.!! Sarita itself was quiet but I always enjoy a short stop in. One lawn was being watered and it attracted a few birds including a nice Philadelphia Vireo but in general the whole area is very dry...No water in the lakes north or south of town. In Weslaco a pair of Green Parakeets came over the motel on Business 83 where I usually stay....I have never had them there before, Also 2 Chimney Swifts which I assume are migrants. Went to Estero Llano Grande to renew my park pass that expires tomorrow only to find out I have to wait until May 1 to renew it....How dumb is that??? There was nothing of great note except some water flowing thru the park which made a number of birds happy including the Clay-colored Robins.....Cough, cough, Thrush -- Brush Freeman 361-655-7641 http://texasnaturenotes.blogspot.com/ Finca de los Alacranes., Utley,Texas TEXBIRDS help file and Texas birding links at: http://moonmountaingroup.com/texbirds Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds
