Although the Gulf coast continues under the influence of a strong dome of
high pressure and resultant N winds virtually Gulf-wide things are looking
up. Although the only trans-Gulf migrants I can find in the late morning
are on the N shore of Lake Pontchatrain mostly N and E of Mandeville
(reorienting?) the presence of scattered coastal and near shore showers
across the entire area may have some influence on otherwise invisible
migrants. Meanwhile inland continues moderately good with circum-Gulf
migrants. Yesterday afternoon Bret Whitney and I saw 2 flocks of Franklin's
Gulls totaling about 450 birds over SW Austin and a male Lazuli Bunting was
at my feeder this morning.
