AMAZING RICE FIELD MATAGORDA COUNTY
Tony Frank & I just spent an hour at a rice field at the corner of S Citrus Rd
& Gillette Rd southwest of the S Texas Nuclear Plant. It contained an estimated
5000 American Golden Plovers and at least 1000 dowitchers. Also present were
yellowlegs, Semipalmated Plovers, a single Stilt Sandpiper, and a few
Franklin's Gulls.
