Greetings All: On Sunday (2 June 2013) morning I polished off the Dougherty BBS (Floyd County). In the evening, I did some birding in my Lubbock patch. Morning highlights from Floyd County included 37 Cattle Egrets and 42 White-faced Ibises just southwest of Dougherty, 1 Western Wood Pewee and 1 MacGillivray's Warbler south of Floydada, 1 female and 1 male Bronzed Cowbird at the CR 121 crossing of the White River, and 2 Common Ravens just south of the aforementioned crossing. An incidental highlight from Hale County: a male Indigo Bunting singing from atop the sole tree at the intersection of FM 54 and FM 400. An incidental highlight from Lubbock County: 3 Snowy Egrets at Maxey Park. In the evening I visited Lake Six and the riparian area below Lake Six. Highlights from Lake Six: 8 Canada Geese, 10 Northern Shovelers, 1 Snowy Egret, and 1 Spotted Sandpiper. Highlights from below Lake Six: 1 Willow Flycatcher, 1 Cordilleran Flycatcher, 1 MacGillivray's Warbler, 1 Yellow Warbler, and 2 Wilson's Warblers.
