I'm forwarding this for Tom Langschied, as he is having some posting
problems.
Yesterday, I birded the western agricultural portion of the Laureles Div.
of King Ranch (east of Kingsville) but in Kleberg Co.  Biggest surprises
were two American Golden-Plovers (one still in breeding plumage) and 105
Mountain Plovers.  Also of particular interest were 3 Burrowing Owls and 4
Sprague’s Pipits.  Below is the list of the 39 species found.

Earlier in the week on Monday I birded the Santa Gertrudis Div. of King
Ranch (also Kleberg Co.) and found 62 species.  Highlights of that outing
were 2 Merlin, 3 Cave Swallows, and 9 Sprague’s Pipits.  The full list of
