Hi Joan: is there a way I/we can monitor this bird with you.? Very
interesting route. I live in S. Central Texas.....AKA Caracaraville.

I have been studying crested caracaras for over 20 years, mostly in
Florida.
There currently is a radio tagged caracara in southwestern Lamar county.
It was originally tagged with a GPS/GSM
transmitter in July, north of Little Rock, AR, where it remained for about
a month, then recently it has been moving through northeast
Texas. Today it is about half way between Routes 24 and 271, about 20 km
southeast of Paris, in Lamar County.
I can monitor this bird's movements via the internet but would greatly
appreciate
hearing about any sightings of this caracara in this area or elsewhere in
the state.
The tagged bird has a green aluminum band on its L leg, standard USFWS
silver aluminum band on R leg.
I am particularly interested, if anyone sees this caracara, to know if it
is with other caracaras.
Thank you.
