stopped by anahuac:
purple gallinules were out and about
too many least bitterns to count
5 king rails (4 adults and 1 older juvenile having lost its black down)
juvenile dickcissals everywhere
more orchard orioles than i have seen on recent previous visits
male bronzed cowbird and possibly either young or female
tried to get pics of 1st day black necked stilt chick but he hid too well so only got the legs - i know he was 1st day as one egg had a crack in it waiting for chick to bust out that white pelican was still on berm ... this bird was here last week along with several more white pelicans on far east of shoveler rd with a flock of about 50 wood storks not suggesting they traveled together but just congregated with other large waders

sabine woods: the tropical mockingbird was a little tougher than on previous visits ... i think i found the fledged bird or at least a begging bird and for sure i got a pic of the tropical with nice white tipped tail in flight carrying a berry
brown thrasher
several yellow billed cuckoos
common yellowthroat
many orchard orioles
family of green herons

while in sulpher la found 6 fish crows in parking lot
