This morning a zone-tailed hawk was found on the Santa Gertrudis div. of King
Ranch (Kleberg Co.) by a King Ranch colleague. This part of the ranch is
primarily west of Kingsville. There have been very few observations of this
species on this part of the ranch in the past several years, so this was a
pleasant surprise. Other highlights noted today from this division included a
ringed kingfisher, Sprague's pipits (2), and Audubon's oriole.
