I birded Windy Point in Austin today from around 2-5pm and wanted to share a couple of notable sightings. A Black-bellied Plover was in with about 43 American Avocets off the main point. I located the bird by call initially, ruling out AGPL. There was a lone Greater White-fronted Goose circling around and calling. It landed a couple of times but overall was very skittish. While walking down to the point, I found what I'm about 90% sure is a Sedge Wren. The bird flushed and lit in a small bush. I went for binos rather than my camera to be sure I got a look plus I was so close I didn't want to scare it. Bright white supercilium, warm, cinnamon tone on the flanks, curved bill, short, cocked tail and overall lighter coloration than Marsh Wren (also saw two Marsh Wrens further along the point for comparison). Sam Fason later joined me and we searched the area for close to an hour but were not able to relocate it. Shorebird numbers were very low but overall, pretty birdy.
