Hi, I went birding at Village Creek in Arlington yesterday afternoon with the ornithology lab group from here at UD. Got there about an hour early and birding with Kat Dugyon some and had some good birds. The entrance road was very birdy, and we got great looks at a single Harris's Sparrow and multiple Golden-crowned Kinglets amid the more common birds. Didn't really get to walk around as much as I would have liked, but did get to view the main pond on the east side, which had plenty of waterbirds. Scoped most of it, but wasn't able to find anything exceptional, but I'm sure I missed plenty. Mostly Northern Shovelers, with very good numbers of Ring-necked Ducks. Best sighting was a flock of Rusty Blackbirds along the road that borders the north edge of that biggest pond with all the ducks. They were hanging out in a willow, singing quietly. Also had a bobcat.
