I don't often put out unconfirmed reports from the valley. Two exceptional
reports were received today. One report was of a Red-legged Honeycreeper at
Estero on the Green Jay Trail. The bird was a short way down the right fork and
is an unconfirmed report at this time.

A "Western" Flycatcher was recorded at Sabal Palm today.
http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S25736849. The observer felt the
recording was more like Pacific-slope than Cordilleran Flycatcher. Pac-slope
would be new for Texas but the species limits are muddled.

The Greater Pewee continues at Anzalduas. Two Hook-billed Kites were reported
from Santa Ana NWR. The Swainson's Warbler continues at the convention center
on South Padre. At least one redneck phalarope continues at Sal del Rey.

The whooping crane was seen flying south yesterday at 11 o'clock alone. It is
gone.

Watch the blog below for updates on these and other birds in the LRGV.
