Howdy Texbirds,
Did some birding in Val Verde County while visiting my family outside of
Comstock. Highlights for me were a White-tipped Dove in the parking area of
the Pecos River high bridge boat ramp, Black-tailed Gnatcatchers building a
nest on my family's property, a gull with a solid black head flying over
the lake (Franklin's/Laughing), four Red-breasted Mergansers on the lake,
and a couple Eared Grebes that were starting to look pretty fancy.
Headed back to College Station tomorrow. It's been a good visit home!
