I was just trying to keep it more local and not clutter Texbirds and for other reasons as well in part...I guess it was a dumb idea. Heck it is very hard to get Centex birders to post Centex finds to Texbirds and I know there are a lot of Centex birders out there....I figured they had some sort of fear of Texbirds and that a more locally focused forum might bring them out of the closet...I have actually been told by numerous area birds they are too afraid to post to Texbirds or their sightings are not "good" enough, or they don't have the "time" (BS) etc.......I know many of them have better birding days than I on a regular basis but do not post anything with a couple of exceptions. Don't like that attitude so much. If you want to receive posts feed the system in so some come in return...NO post is dumb...(well maybe a few) ...Someone I know recently had 1000 White Pelicans on Lake Bastrop and did NOT post it.!!??.....In almost 30 years here in Bastrop Co. I have never heard of that many grounded in the county anywhere (flyovers different deal)...But this, person who rarely contributes anything to Texbirds, is one of the biggest complainers about the content or lack of in Texbirds I know?!? .....You get out of it what you put into it...Off my box, out of my bitters and done with the topic...Like I said a dumb idea I guess.
