As many of you know, Lake Tawakoni SP is one of the best birding locations
in North Central Texas. Richard Kinney has already proven what a great spot
this park is. Recently, Robert (Bob) Haynes joined the staff at Lake
Tawakoni SP. Bob moved from Montana less than a year ago so he is very new
to Texas birds and Texas birding. Since Bob is new to birding in Texas, he
would appreciate having an experienced Texas birder along to help confirm
the IDs. Bob requested to put out the word that he could use some help with
a assistant on each date while he is becoming more familiar with Texas
birds.
This message is also intended to inform people of the upcoming bird walks.
The dates currently planned are for this spring are March 30, April 6,
April 20, May 4, and May 25. Start time is 9 AM. I participated in a walk
on March 16th that lasted about 2-2 1/12 hours.

If you are interested in assisting Bob and getting in a great morning of
birding at the same time, please email or call him with the dates you can
go and let him know you are interested in helping him with the walk. He is
looking for adequate, not necessarily expert, identification skills
primarily and would greatly appreciate your participation. Of course, in
the coming weeks, there will be good opportunities to see spring migrants.

If you are interested in participating, but not assisting with bird IDs,
you can still use the Bob's contact information below to reserve a spot.
There is a limit to 10 participants to make sure he can help each person
see the birds. Please call at least a few days in advance to reserve a spot
if you plan to make the drive over there.

I hope people will take advantage of this great opportunity to support one
of state parks and such an outstanding birding location. Bob is very
excited to offer these bird walks and really wants them to be successful.
