Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Howdy All! =20 Pretty good start to migration here at the park. Yesterday, the first of the Broad-winged Hawks showed up. It looks like one of our nesting pairs. This week the Black-and-White Warblers arrived and the Yellow-throated Warblers too. The Eastern Towhees are singing "Drink your tea" and we even have a Spotted Towhee still hanging around. The Hairy Woodpeckers have been a little easier to find lately too. =20 =20 Down by the Beaver Pond the Swamp Sparrows are singing as are the Winter Wrens. The surprise birds were the Blue-winged Teal and Lesser Scaup that were probably here to ride out the storm. =20 =20 Tyler SP (PPW-E 065), Smith, US-TX Mar 30, 2013 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM Protocol: Traveling 3.0 mile(s) 56 species =20 Wood Duck 2 Mallard 3 Blue-winged Teal 1 Lesser Scaup 3 Pied-billed Grebe 7 Double-crested Cormorant 2 Black Vulture 3 Turkey Vulture 2 Broad-winged Hawk 2 Killdeer 2 Ring-billed Gull 3 Mourning Dove 2 Belted Kingfisher 1 Red-bellied Woodpecker 2 Downy Woodpecker 2 Hairy Woodpecker 2 Northern Flicker 2 Pileated Woodpecker 3 Eastern Phoebe 4 Scissor-tailed Flycatcher 1 White-eyed Vireo 4 Blue Jay 9 American Crow 6 Purple Martin 15 Carolina Chickadee 6 Tufted Titmouse 8 Red-breasted Nuthatch 1 White-breasted Nuthatch 4 Brown-headed Nuthatch 3 Brown Creeper 1 Winter Wren 2 Carolina Wren 6 Golden-crowned Kinglet 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet 10 Eastern Bluebird 3 Hermit Thrush 5 Northern Mockingbird 2 Brown Thrasher 4 Cedar Waxwing 10 Louisiana Waterthrush 2 Black-and-white Warbler 3 Pine Warbler 20 Yellow-rumped Warbler 9 Yellow-throated Warbler 1 Spotted Towhee 1 Eastern Towhee 4 Chipping Sparrow 10 Song Sparrow 6 Swamp Sparrow 2 White-throated Sparrow 30 Northern Cardinal 10 Red-winged Blackbird 5 Eastern Meadowlark 1 Common Grackle 12 Pine Siskin 30 American Goldfinch 12 =20 =20 Good Birding, =20 Boyd A.
