We are settling in to the mostly breeding birds season now with only a few
straggling migrants remaining. We found 67 species today. We were unable to
locate the Common Gallinule that was seen by several birders yesterday. The
marshes continue to look good with lots of vegetation and sufficient water. One
Hudsonian Godwit was still present along with a Black-necked Stilt. We found a
group of 10 Mississippi Kites on Short Rd.
