Tuesday morning bird census, Hagerman NWR

Shorebird numbers were down, with very few birds found.  There was a lone
Hudsonian Godwit, some White-rumped Warblers and Wilson Phalaropes, a few
Pectorals and Least Sandpipers.  We found 3 Warbler species just inside the
gate to Meadow Pond Rd. Magnolia Warbler, a couple of American Redstarts
and a Wilson's Warbler.  Other warbler species seen were Prothonotary and
Common Yellowthroat.  There were still some Yellow-headed Blackbirds on the
end of Plover Pad in the Button Bushes.  We found a lone Bobolink on Short
Rd., that was singing continuously.  We saw one Green Heron, a specie that
has been hard to locate this season.  We saw 8 Least Terns flying around
near the end of Plover Pad.  We ended up with 84 species and we are getting
to the period where most all that we will see are area breeding birds.
