[texbirds] Tuesday morning bird census, Hagerman NWR

It was windy today but the birding was very good.  We found 84 species.  There 
are lots of mudflats and there 
were lots of shorebirds but most of the shorebirds were spread out widely 
requiring a lot of time to survey them.  We saw an Upland Sandpiper near plover 
pad on the shoreline and others on the fields west of the refuge.  We found 
Wood Ducks at Dead Woman Pond as well as a Red-headed Woodpecker. We saw the 
female Ring-necked Pheasant again on the road to Goode. There were lots of 
gulls and terns at the end of plover on a sandbar.  There were Brewer's 
blackbirds with cattle near the far end of Short Rd.
