[texbirds] Tuesday morning bird census, Hagerman NWR.

Yet another great week of winter birding resulted in a total of 82 species.  It 
turned windy and cold early on but we found lots of birds in sheltered places.  
The find of the day and possibly of the year was a Palm Warbler on Tern Pad.  
This is a rare bird at the refuge and this time of year it is unbelievable bird 
but we did get photos. There are still lots of white geese and a lot of ducks 
of many species.  At least one of the Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks is still 
hanging around.  We got closeup looks at a Mature Bald Eagle sitting in a tree 
near the Big Mineral picnic area.  There was a Bufflehead and some Ruddy Ducks 
in Mineral Marsh.  We saw and heard several Pileated Woodpeckers. We saw a 
Winter Wren on Oil Field Road.
