[texbirds] Tuesday morning bird census, Hagerman NWR

We finished the day with 58 species.  We didn't see any sparrows but we did see 
one flock of 15 House Finches.  We saw a couple of mature Bald Eagles soaring, 
on our way to Meadow Pond. There were quite a few Blue-winged Teal along with 
Green-winged Teal, Gadwall, Redheads, Mallards and American Wigeons plus a 
group of 29 American Avocets.  There were a couple of immature Black-bellied 
Whistling-Ducks by Harris Creek on Wildlife Dr. At Dead Woman Pond we saw a 
Merlin sitting in a tree preening, appearing not to be at all bothered by our 
presence.  Also at Dead Woman we saw 4 Red-headed Woodpeckers, Northern 
Flickers, Red-bellied Woodpeckers an American Kestrel and other birds. Just 
north of Headquarters we saw a couple of Wilson's Snipe and 9 American Pipits.
