What a beautiful morning for a bird walk at Bear Creek Park today! The group
found 37 species. Highlights included 2 Pine Siskins, a pair of Wood Ducks
searching for a nest hole, and the Greater Pewee. The pewee was heard pipping
behind the restroom next to Pasche Ln. After searching for a while, it was
found perched in a tree where it sat for several minutes. Everyone got
excellent looks and some nice photos.
Bird walks meet at Bear Creek Community Center at 8:30 AM and last until about
10:00 AM. We have two more walks scheduled for March 24 and April 28. We will
then have a break for the summer and resume bird walks in September.
