The AOU giveth and taketh away. Add California Scrub Jay and remove Hpary
Redpoll.
I was disappointed but not surprised that Lillian Meadowlark did not make it to
species status. Several voted "no" based on the fact that the Neotropic clad of
meadowlarks of which Lillian is one have not been studied completely. It will
be at least a few more years I am afraid. I personally think there are
significant behavior traits. Lillian appears to remain in pairs and on
territory through the winter instead of flocking but determining this generally
is difficult since winter meadowlarks are all so similar in appearance. However
I have found several pairs by themselves at various places in the TransPecos
during winter.

I was just informed that Sibley's 2nd Edition incorporates those changes.
