Texbirds will miss you. You are the first to report regularly to Texbirds from the refuge. You regular post have led me to bring one of our senior bus trips there next month. We have been going to Goose Island every year but are coming to the refuge because we can see through your post what is there. Thank you and the best to you in Lewis and Clark Country. Fred Collins, Director Kleb Woods Nature Center 20303 Draper Road,Tomball TX 77377 Harris County Precinct 3 Steve Radack Commissioner -----Original Message----- From: texbirds-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:texbirds-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David True Sent: Wednesday, January 22, 2014 8:47 AM To: texbirds@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [texbirds] Thank you for everything! I just wanted to say thank you for the great birding tips and all the interest for birds and other nature items for the past three years. I'm moving on to a new job as a park ranger for the Army Corps of Engineers along the Missouri River in South Dakota and Nebraska. I hope that everyone will get a chance to continue birding at Aransas NWR and the surrounding areas. Although the drought has somewhat hurt the birding diversity at Aransas over the past few years, birds like the Painted Redstart, Red-headed Woodpeckers and others continue to pop up there. With a bird list over 400 species, anything is possible there. Of course, the Whooping Cranes are special too! I will be back a few times this year as a guide so maybe I will see some of you then. South Dakota and Nebraska has great birding (Bald Eagles often perch outside my new office window in Nebraska!) but I will always miss Texas birding, that's for sure! Thank you for everything!
